JULIAN WILEY, ACS, CL — My Toastmasters journey began in 2009, when I joined ABA SPEAKeasies (#9424). Because of my membership, I’ve grown professionally and personally over the years — and have gained useful skills that will last me for a lifetime. I’m currently Club President at ABA SPEAKeasies, as well as Club Secretary at Bold Literary Talkers (#708973). I have been an Area Director for the Central North Division, and am currently the District’s Administration Manager, which grants me responsibility for maintaining meeting minutes, roll call and other accurate, timely records of district business.
I am a life-long Chicagoan and a life-long learner; my hobbies include film, fitness, food and travel.
LINDA M. CHAMBERS, ACB, ALB, WAO Club President and 2nd time District 103 Parliamentarian, joined Toastmasters International and became a member of the Wrightwood-Ashburn Overcomers (WAO) Toastmasters Club in July 2008. As an educator, she joined as a way of stepping outside of her comfort zone in the classroom to feeling just as confident speaking in front of a group of her peers in a variety of business settings. Since that time, she has also taken her leadership skills to another level through opportunities presented to her by more senior WAO Club members. Because of these leadership opportunities, Linda has developed relevant meeting management skills and parliamentary experience through education and training programs provided by Toastmasters International and the National Association of Parliamentarians. Toastmasters has proven to be the perfect venue for gaining the type of experience for practicing one’s craft.

CASSANDRA “D.I.V.A. OF DIALOGTM LEE, DTM, IPDD — My exposure to Toastmasters International began in 1996 when I was a member of a Speechcraft class sponsored by a Toastmasters club in Evanston, IL. However, my career as a Toastmaster started in January 1998 when I became an official member of the ABA SPEAKeasies #9424. I know my growth as a person and development as a professional came because of my communication and leadership training in Toastmasters. My professional career flourished from administrative professional to mid-level manager to full-time entrepreneur thanks to Toastmasters. At the same time, my involvement in Toastmasters shifted from Member to Club Officer to Area Governor to Division Governor to Club Sponsor, Club Mentor, Charter Member, Division Governor again, Club Retention Chair, Program Quality Director, and the first-ever District Director for District 103 Toastmasters. It has been a busy yet rewarding time for me. I am grateful to those who served with me as the first-ever District Leaders for District 103 Toastmasters. I am proud of what we accomplished; the groundwork we laid; and the seeds we planted. I know we will see the ripple effect of our dedication and hard work when District 103 becomes President’s Distinguished like my home club – the Wrightwood-Ashburn Overcomers (WAO) Toastmasters club #771880. In the meantime, I plan to enjoy some downtime prior to finishing my book and traveling the world to promote it.
